Team 1359 is a very unique team, for a multitude of reasons.

The largest reason, and the most obvious, is that we are not school affiliated. Instead, we belong to a boy scout venture crew. This enables us to work year round, instead of only during the school year. It also means that we can recruit members from a variety of schools rather than simply one.

Unfortunately, having no real school affilation also means that we have no access to any school money. Instead, we have to do all our own fundraising. We additionally have to do all of our own recruiting, including the search for mentors. This is a lot of extra work.

Another difference between our team and others, is that our team is student run. Our mentors guide, but do not lead. All of our ideas come from students, the students manage the finances and buisiness plans, and we have a student run government, including president,president elect, vice president, secretary,and treasurer.

Additionally, and perhaps the most important differance to us, is that our team's main purpose is to have fun. We work hard but what we are really striving for is fun. We enjoy dressing up and joking around. We go on team vacations, and have gift exchanges during holidays.

Our team is unique, and, in our opinion, the best.
