About Team 1359

Team 1359 The Scalawags is a student run and governed team.

As a student run team our President runs our weekly meetings, while the mentors mainly sit back and observe (occasionally guiding us along).

Our Secretary makes sure to keep us organized, and keeps busy doing so.

The President-Elect is taught throughout the year by our presiding President, and will take the reins over next year when they retire.

Throughout the year our VP of Administrations and VP of Programs strive to help our team grow and expand in both the community as well as a team, so that when our build season rolls around, we have both the support of the community and our team.

Our Treasurer has the hardest job out of all of our officers; he has to make sure we don’t waste our entire budget. We need thousands of dollars every year for building our robot, going to Regional competitions, and going on our many planned scouting trips. To do this our treasurer plans fund raising events and demonstrations to potential sponsors.

The team cheerleader, our Spirit Coordinator, is expected to find new ways to promote the Scalawags and make people notice our team in a crowd. We have won many imagery and spirit awards in the last four years because of our team spirit and it is something we take pride in.

Documenting what we have won, what we have done in the community, and even what trips we have gone on is all up to our Historian. Recording memories and putting them into our scrapbook is very important, and our Historian pulls it off seamlessly.

An army marches on it's stomach, and a robotics team marches on it's budget. Thanks to our FundRaising Coordinator, we keep a heathy budget. We keep him sweating, along side the Treasurer, to make sure we have enough money for all our various adventures.
